    "Al Yah"  is the Arabic name of the North Star (also known as Polaris or the guiding star of ancient navigators).

    "Live" is the technical expression used in the Broadcasting Industry to represent the live state of a broadcasting transmission over  Radio or TV airwaves.

    Yahsat provides multipurpose satellite broadband and telecommunications solutions across the Middle East, Africa, Europe and South West Asia. Yahsat is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and is wholly owned by Mubadala Development Company, the investment vehicle of the Government of Abu Dhabi.

    Yahlive, a joint venture company between Yahsat & SES, owns Space and Ground infrastructure for the delivery of TV and Radio Broadcasting services in the regions covered by the Yahsat 1A satellite located at 52.5E.
